Café Enterprise Offers Convenience
Café Enterprise is the point-of-sale software program the FCPS Food Service Department uses to process students' purchases at the cash register and account for food sales.

·         The program allows parents to place money in their child’s account for the purchase of meals and/or other food items.

·         Parents may also place money in the child’s account for meals only. See Prepay section below.

·         The student’s name and picture are identifiers that prevent unauthorized use of the student’s account.

o        Students in elementary grades receive a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to access their accounts.

o        Secondary students use an assigned student identification number throughout middle and high school to access their account.

·         Students visiting other schools can access their accounts by simply entering their PIN or student ID number.

·         The student account remains active as long as the student is enrolled.

·         Student account information may be emailed to parents, upon request.

Prepay for Your Child's Meals
Café PrePay is an online payment site for parents to place money in their child’s account via the use of a credit card. Café Prepay communicates with Café Enterprise to transfer the online transactions into the student’s account in the Café Enterprise accountability system.

Students may purchase meals with cash. However, prepayment of meals protects against forgotten or lost money and allows students to move through the serving lines more quickly. Parents and guardians may access their child’s school at http://www.cafeprepay.com/ and put money in their child’s account.

1.     One way Café Prepay allows parents to deposit money in their child’s account is by using a credit card. When using a credit card, there is an associated service fee. The payment will be credited to the child’s account the morning after the payment is made.  Note: credit card fees apply for each transactionClick here to read about the charges (including changes effective 2009-10) and ways to consolidate payments.

2.    Parents may also send cash or a check to their child’s school cafeteria to pay for school meals. A payment in any amount may be placed in the child’s account. Parents may indicate “Meals Only” on the check if they prefer their child not purchase a la carte items. When the check is received indicating “Meals Only,” a notation will be made on the child’s account to alert the food service staff.

Parents who feel their family may qualify for free or reduced-price meals may contact the Food Service Office, 301-644-5061, for more information about the program.

*Breakfast is served on all full school days and, new in 2009-10, also when schools open 1 or 2 hours late.
